1. Installation
Split is distributed as an Android APK. Enable installation from unknown sources once — then you're good to go.
INSTALL STEPS

Download Split_v1.06.11.apk from the download section

Open your file manager and tap the downloaded APK

Go to Settings → Security → Install unknown apps and enable for your browser or file manager

Tap Install. Split launches immediately — no setup required.

2. Creating Groups
Groups are the core unit in Split. Create one for each shared expense context — a trip, household, event, or anything else.

3. Adding Expenses
Tap the + button inside any group to add an expense. Enter the description, total amount, and who paid.

4. Multi-Payer Splits
When multiple people chip in for the same expense, Split handles the breakdown automatically.

5. Custom Split
Override the equal split with custom amounts per person.

6. Settlement Flow
When someone pays their debt, record a settlement. Balances update immediately across the entire group.

7. Partial Settlement
Pay in installments. Partial settlements reduce the remaining debt without fully clearing it.
